As of April 8, 2016 the Commission has received about 80 telephone calls from people who believe their cases may have been affected by the flawed Motherisk test. At the callers’ request, Commission Counsel are examining 60 of these and another 30 will be referred to counseling services — also at the callers’ request. In addition, the Commission has received about 350 cases from child welfare agencies. Commission lawyers are working to respond to the most urgent cases first. About 100 of these have been dealt with to date.
